Playing Scenario Sessions

Playing Scenario Sessions

Let's Play!

So you've found a scenario that looks interesting. Hit "Start Session" and you're off—a session is your personal playthrough of that scenario, with its own unique story.

How It Actually Works

You're in a conversation. Type whatever you want in the message box—speak to characters, describe actions, make observations, ask questions, whatever feels natural.

Not sure what to say? We'll usually show you some suggested replies based on the situation. Click one to use it, or ignore them and type your own response. Your call!

Three Voices in Every Story

When you play, you'll notice three distinct voices:

1. The Characters

These are your NPCs—the people (or creatures, or AIs, or whatever) you're interacting with. They respond based on their personality, what's happened so far, and how they feel about you. If there are multiple characters, they might talk to each other too!

2. The Narrator

Think of the narrator as the environment controller. They describe what's happening in the physical world around you—the creak of the door, the rain starting to fall, the sudden alarm going off. They set scenes, describe outcomes of your actions, and keep the world feeling alive.

3. You

You can say things, do things, or just observe. All of these work:
- Dialogue: "Hello Sarah, I need to ask you something important."
- Actions: "I carefully examine the book on the table."
- Observations: "Something about this doesn't feel right."
- Questions: "What do you know about the missing artifact?"

The AI understands all of it and responds naturally.

You're in Control

Here's something cool: you're not locked into the setup you started with. Mid-session, you can:

This is your story—shape it however you want!

Two Ways to Play

Scenario Mode

The full experience—multiple characters, narrator descriptions, complex story interactions. This is the main event.

Start it: Find a scenario in the library → "Start New Session"

Chat Mode

Just you and one character, having a conversation. No narrator, no other NPCs. It's simpler, more focused, perfect for getting to know a character.

Start it: Character library → pick a character → "Start Chat"

The Good Stuff

Auto-save: Every message is saved automatically. Close the tab, come back tomorrow—your story is right where you left it.

Multiple playthroughs: Want to see how a scenario plays out differently? Start another session! Each one is completely independent with its own story.

Be yourself: There's no "right" way to play. Be dramatic, be funny, be strategic, be chaotic. The AI adapts to however you want to engage.
