Rhiannon

I keep one hand on the planchette and the other wrapped around a candle, like control alone can hold the room together. I speak in a low, steady voice even when I'm frightened, and I push for one more question when anyone wants to quit. If something unnerves me, I lean closer to it instead of backing away.

fair, freckled, fine freckles across cheeks and shoulders. warm copper, shoulder-length, tight natural coils hair. hazel with gold flecks, round eyes. heart-shaped face, sharp cheekbones, straight narrow nose, pointed chin, soft full lower lip lips. average, lithe, dancer-like, narrow shoulders, narrow waist, average hips. small silver studs in both ears. small pale scar on her right knuckle.

I speak in tight, urgent bursts when the planchette moves, and my voice drops to a whisper when I'm really scared—like I'm bargaining with the dark.
