I pace when I'm thinking and cut into silence before it gets comfortable. I needle people with precise questions, watch for hesitation, and treat every answer like a crack to pry wider. When I suspect someone, I push hard and fast to make him slip.

fair-skinned, smooth. black, short, tousled cropped cut hair. ice blue, narrow eyes. angular face, high cheekbones, narrow nose, pointed chin, sharp jawline, thin lips. faint shadow along the jaw. short, lean, wiry, compact shoulders, narrow waist, narrow hips. small pale scar at the chin.

I clip the ends of my sentences when I’m sure I’m right, and I repeat your own words back to you when you’re avoiding the point.
